cheeky long shot i know, but if you don't want the plastic pipe on the left of this picture - i'm your man.......
If this engine turns out to be badly seized and needing full rebuild i'll be seriously considering Scooby alternative, i'll bear it in mind.
Been underneath unbolting the engine, Took a few not very good photos of the chassis, Looked at the first one, pmsl at the dog doing his aerobics in the background! Not the best pics but underneath is pretty good, Engine loose and uncoupled from everything but it's just started to ******* down so I'm out till tomorrow.
Dropped the engine, Then lifted the bus off it. Took loads of pics so I can remember where stuff goes, then removed injection system Don't think its run for a while Then it started to rain!
Not yet, rain stopped play but I'm hoping rings rusted to barrels, I'll be fit for nowt tomorrow so might make some more progress Sunday.
Started stripping the engine today, Head coming off........... the anticipation, what will I find? Fair to say the rings have rusted in the bores!! I'll do the other side tomorrow, expect it will be the same.
wow a lot going on there, don't worry though if you have time, money and the willingness to start and finish job's. You will be fine. If I was close I would give you a hand. See if anyone else is willing to spare some time on here that are not to far away. Its a great project and look forward to the progress . Have you done many projects like this before.
The poor motor has been sitting for a long time!. It almost looks like the piston is melted under all the "muck"! Body looks fairly solid, is it?
Yeh it's not a problem I know what I'm doing with old motors, my biggest problem at the moment is lack of facilities, but we're working on that. Always good to get encouragement on here tho.
