The yellow bits round the sides of the lenses should be clear as should the whole lenses. They're about £6 each... good luck.
Im replacing them anyway as there cracked The cloudyness can be removed using finer grades of micromesh then liquid polish Its how they restore aircraft canopys Fading of the pigment in plastic cant be reversed but the clarity of the colour that is there can
Ive just been out and bought this to paint the light housing with It should help brighten up the rear lights a fair bit
be interesting to see that paint as mine are bad also what type of cutting compound did you use on the lens
I used farcella g3 matty Ive never used this paint before I was looking for silver paint when i came across this one so it will be interesting to see how it works out
I used Chrome paint on mine and it does make it brighter but it's not as reflective as the original finish. Be interesting to see if the reflecting paint actually does what it says on the tin.
Theres no reflective finish on the rear lights as standard zeb dude Ive been prepping and priming one of the rear light housings this morning and thinking about the paint as i went along I think i may have found a little snag It works at reflecting light like the white high viz bands on road cones So on the brake and indicator the light has to pass through the appropriate coloured lens However with the reverse light the lens is clear So if a vehicle drives up behind me with its headlamps on then the reversing lights may illuminate white with the reflection Not only would that not be good displaying a white light or reflection at the rear is illegal Its also got me wondering if the indicators and stop/tail light will illuminate with the reflection Im now undecided as to use this paint or go back out and buy a can of silver paint and some laquer
Ive bought some rustoleum metallic silver paint today Im going to spray the housing in silver then mask off the reverse light housing and lay the reflective paint over the rest Ill have to link up a battery to the bulbs and show the difference between stock and painted when done £18 in paint plus etch primer and scotch pads to get to that point so i hope its worth while
Thats all well said and good untill someone goes up the backside of me Plus its a pastime of mine experimenting with what works and doesent its still cheaper than a crack habbit That engine of mine can stay in the forgetfull corner for now but ill keep tarting the tinware im just waiting for my new wirebrushes to turn up Messing with the lights has been a nice distraction
Oh and those rear lenses turned out ok for a quick go over lol I know its possible because i have to do it on my daily drive headlamps each mot lmao
