Few pics of the progress on the lights and i have to say i think its going to make a fair difference to the brightness of the rear lights and hopefully the paint may help stop the light housing decomposing more Ill do a comparrison pic in the dark tonight to see how much of the flash it actually reflects when dry
Ive dropped the bulb holders in some white vinager to soak so that will bring the copper contacts up like new
looks good should be a improvement over the original witch can be a little disapointing. Does mean i have yet another job on my list so Thanks
Cheers chris and matty and zeb your right that would do the trick Ive been out and took some pictures of the difference between the standard housing and the painted one in the dark Ive also stood the painted housing over the other side of the garden and shone a torch on it I can positively say that rustoleum reflective paint really does work Ill wait for the paint to cure properly then fit the bulbholders back in and put a lens on and wire the bulbs up to do some comparrisons between the two
Cheers lofty Hopefully i can do the test with the bulbs tmw i just want to give the paint chance to cure properly
Hi Para, I've been following your thread for a while. I like your ideas and dedication. I've always been a 'that'll do' kinda guy when it comes to bus bits that won't be seen - but now I find myself carefully painting my running gear with shiny black tractor enamel. I blame you entirely!! (I didn't flat between coats though - I haven't gone that far!). Thanks for the paint tip by the way, I like that Tractol. I'm following the wheel carrier developments with interest, I like that idea for our bus. My thoughts are that I prefer the landmark design as it keeps the wheel from obscuring the rear window. Keep the excellent posts coming.
can't wait to see pics of it done. I think the off road thing is such. good idea and your attention to detail is amazing. Clearly others think so too as you have had over 16,000 views of this thread. Don't know if its a record but it could well be.
