Who is going to pay the 100 Billion for free broadband and 4day week ?

 

Free broadband in 10 years that’s not super fast is it , golly that man has got some money to give away pratttttttttt

 

I agree, but that doesn't mean it's the right opinion. In years to come there will be other differing opinions, maybe we'll be voting for the Green party, when we've used all the fossil fuels, killed the bees, eaten all the fish, sucked the life out of the planet & the imploding sun is scorching our little behinds to a crisp as soon as look at it. I wish you well & at least this way life is interesting

 

The cut backs the Tories inflicted on local councils have come home to roost. I think its the single worst thing they did and it was a bad idea and guaranteed to hurt poorer people. These days Councils just don't have enough money to provide the many services they have to provide and Government has starved them of money and also put pressure on them to cap council tax restricting their income further. As a result we have seen a general run down of services and support for needy local people leading to the serious problems @Sweeney Todd mentioned.

We all have to pay taxes as tax money is needed. How the Government spends the money is often questionable though.

Councils need more council tax and so they encourage the big boy developers to build more houses and only expensive ones as they get more tax from expensive houses and not interested in affordables which bring in a lot less money.

Everything is driven by money and profit and the bad thing is the rich fat cats are the ones buying up the high cost new builds, often with their bonuses. The fat cats buy up land around towns and sit on it until one day they sell the land for £1 million per acre and then buy more houses and land for themselves.

Meanwhile most of the population struggles to exist and never get a chance to own a home. The country is divided, we are a capitalist country, not egalitarian and no amount of Brexit or free Broadband would significantly improve ordinary folks' lives.

 

This thread is kicking off nicely! I feel like a bloodthirsty spectator at a Roman amphitheatre watching the gladiators battling it out!

You are right The Green Party, the party for the future.
They will probably become very directorial about how you live your life (planet first mankind second ) not that the world will give two hoots which ever way we go go .
Come to think of it, the only way to save ourselves on this planet will possibly be one man or women single ruler ...a world dictator . A green nightmare

Lets face it a lot of the green party members are quite militant and not all lily liverd lental scoffers .
A very frightening prospect to say the least .
They may include a Logan's run mentality ....as the penny drops that it's over population which is the real killer of this planet .

 

How are those houses bearing up on the banks of the river near Bewdley Malc, the one where you used to live must be pretty close .

 

VAT is imposed on us by the EU. If we ever come out we can actually ditch it

So the Greens are going to spend £100,000,000,000 every year on climate control. That will be a great relief to the Chinese who can continue burning fossil fuels, knowing that we have saved the planet!

They could spend that amount of money giving every man, woman and child a free pint of beer a day for the next ten years . . .

. . . or maybe spend a little on the nhs perhaps?

 

The Severn has not been that bad considering the rain we have had, I thing the main weather fronts have just been missing us though and dumping slightly North East.

 

As a country we can’t be doing too much wrong if 39 Vietnamese died trying to get here above those European countries they past though..
not one politician wants to say it but a huge part of the people who voted leave voted that way to stop the influx of undesirables in to our country ..

 

But they will still send their emissions on the beast from the east like they are doing now init
