Barry ‘Midge’ Haynes? We’ve all seen evidence of dodgy facial hair haven’t we @Barry Haynes?! And let’s face facts, he’s a known rapscallion around the laydeez...
Looks like later one - green cloverleaf 105ti maybe ‘83? Nice. My two suds were 105ti’s too, 105bhp twin carbs. I have a suspicion the twin Dellortos on my bus, which came rebuilt from Italy, were refurbished Alfa stock since there must have been loads of them recovered from all the rusted out Alfasuds! My ‘sud Sprint Veloce was a single carb ‘79 I think. I’d love one now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a classic Mini 1000 back in the 1990s. I dont really want to go back to it because my bus is more fun.
I had a couple of 8v Golfs , one was absolutely mint and not far off concourse I’d say, sold it 10 years ago for £400 Only owned one 16v Corrado , loved it , not too messed around with looks wise , slightly lowered was all but the engine had a load of work done to it tuning wise and was viciously fast and addictive until it went bang - I sold it as a non runner , if only I’d got somewhere for storage
Mine. Mini Clubman. 1340 rebore, cooper, 13 stud head. Twin SU’s, full Jan Speed exhaust, minilights, fibreglass flip front,’R’ reg, I think. The only pic of me with it,around 1988,maybe... Wouldn’t mind it back.
This one has an XT/SR motor but you get the idea - magnificent chassis for its era , probably better fun and easier to ride than todays offerings at a fifth of the price
The G60 was a series one, it was nice but had a lot of Mk2 Golf in it, didn’t have it long. The VR6 was a series 2 with later Mk2 and Mk3 Golf switchgear. I used to drive it daily from Loughborough to Oxford...it had a K&N full induction kit and Janspeed exhaust....such a smooth and great sounding car. It got written off in Silverstone by an artic. The Golf is on an E plate, small bumper, Tornado Red 16v. I’m the second owner, bought it in 1994 I think, traded a Manta GTE Coupe for it.
