  2. The other option to Scooby is to go full electronic FI / electronic ignition on an air cooled engine, which does work really well. The downside is that there is not really a full turnkey solution and it does require a lot of DIY effort to get it set up properly.

  3. If you have servo-assisted brakes (was an option for the year of my bus (1973) so not all have it) then this is fine. If you have non-servo, then consider adding one.

Finding a 2.2 will dictate which I'd imagine, they are rare as...

    Should be quite easy:
    - Dropped bus off at Fellows
    - Picked bus up from Fellows
    - Drove home with a massive grin on my face.
    - The end.

You've missed the option selecting, and the waiting.

    - Chose blue powder coat / pipes (as its the best colour they do)
    - Waited
    - Waited
    - Waited
    - Picked bus up from Fellows
    - Drove home with a massive grin on my face.
    - The end.

  11. Yes it was expensive - say £6500 in total but money well spent. I bought the Fellows kit and bought my own Subaru engine which was installed by MAC VW in Manchester. Now my kids borrow the van and it is in use just about all the time - no problems.

Once they start they're generally pretty quick.
Last time I spoke to them they had a good few months waiting time to get new customers in.

  14. When I talked to them a couple of months back , had to wait about 6 weeks till they took it in, then I think he said up to 6 weeks to do the job

I've waited about 10 weeks. Takes about 2 weeks to do the actual engine fit - they source the engine once you agree the spec. and then get all the powder coating and bits ready for when you take the bus in.

Hopefully the beginning of next week - they dropped the engine last monday. They are doing an MOT for me as well though as that runs out on November 1st so I guess that could add a day or two depending.

They had to MOT mine too as the steering conversion took a lot longer than anticipated!

  20. It's booked in for 2.0 but was thinking 2.2 would be better £ to BHP ratio but if hard to get will stick with 2.0.
