Driven the van 400 miles in the last week after months Of hibernation. Mostly on motorway and fast A roads - through sun, sleet, hail and rain.

Things I learnt:

Really like our old van still

Really need to get a stereo

No one in the southwest seems to have an old VW anymore - only those transit style vans with big wheels and a bike rack. Saw 2 splits, 1 bay and a bug.

Met a man in the petrol station, who said in the late '60s he drove his bay to Australia ( he shipped it the last bit)

Need make time for camping this summer.

Sadly you can't get behind there, there's a big flat drain thing there. Pull on the badge? It will have to come off and is a press fit so no harm to be done.

 

We are heading due south from
Bristol in a couple of weeks so I will advise you of the route in good time so we can engineer an opportunity to wave as we travel in opposite directions...

You'll have to be driving up my drive as Desmond is "in resto" at present and not complete never mind road worthy, maybe next year.

 

Zed you are an absolute God. I just tugged the badge it made a loud twangy clang and it popped out. Very slight dent LHS above badge that I can easily get out or live with.
