  1. Thought your motherland was a bit further north, and definitely colder than Aus? lol ;)

Fair enough. I know stuff does seriously get misunderstood in writing.

I was tempted to lock or delete but decided to leave it be. That way people can make a decision themselves and challenge any views at this time in an adult manner.
I am shocked at some people's views and racist style posts though and I will say openly I do not want to be associated with any racists or nationalists who say they are not racist so they can spread hate.

  3. I wouldn't mind but we are all immigrants anyway. Just a matter of how long we've been here. I'm more concerned that these guys hung around around for 20 minutes or so and no one did anything about it. Woolwich is a pretty soft place. I'd like to have seen what would have happened if it was done in hackney or somewhere like that

  5. so after watching the filming of the atacker last night on the news i can only say i saw a drug crazed/ unbalanced /misguided man hellbent on killing in the name of what for him was the right thing to do in the name of what he believed to be religeon . There are as we know certain radical types who for there own purposes will pick up the ,shall we say people who dont fit in to normal life and twist there minds in such a way so that person will become self justifying in what ever they do

  6. this is absolutely tragic but i feel this is only the begining.the warning signs have been there for a long time.these people have no interest in intergrating into our society or abiding by any of our laws or ways however hard we try to welcome them with open arms.the do-gooder in denial attitude only fuels their fire.if our grandparents/great grandparents had the same attitude we`d all be speaking german & gasing jews.string them up & have a pubic stoning to send them to their 99 virgins.these people are filth & should be treated so.

  7. Forgot to say that the 99 virgins are probably virgins for a very good reason .who said they were good looking and they could be very old

  8. Is that how we measure an individuals worth nowadays? The amount of likes they get?

There are plenty of nut jobs out there that get 'liked' by followers, doesn't mean they're right. I'm sure there are some folk who 'like' what happened yesterday...

no, but what you and others seem to want to do is highlight that just because people don't (in your opinion) word things the "pc" way their views are wrong, all i'm saying is some people type what they think they should because they feel they need to look "right on" some people (like me) put what they are feeling. let's get back on topic and agree to disagree? this isn't for discussing if i'd fit in at a liberal party conference or a national front one, i don't care about the politics i just care my country of birth is turning into a terrorist haven thanks to the soft laws we have that allow these terrorists a say. now unless someone actually quotes me or has a go for me having "MY opiinion" which i have a right to - and am not forcing on you, i'll leave it on here, we all don't agree that's fine.

History! Fascinating subject , we did not get to rule a third of the planet by rockin up on their shores and asking if they minded!
Since we learned how to build ships we've stomped around this planet forcing our , ideals, beliefs, and religions on other countries because we thought we were better than everyone else.
This is not ancient history either, Hitler was a massive admirer of the British Empire and modelled a lot of what he did on it!
We still get involved in other countries conflicts because we believe our ways are better, we cannot be shocked and and horrified when they don't all agree!

Actually it's 72 virgins - perpetual virgins apparently. Although there is a body of thought which believes the original arabic writing was mistranslated and the reward is in fact 72 pure white raisins. When the koran was originally written down arabic wasn't really a written language and what was written down lacked certain features which were later added - diacritics (the little marks you see within arabic script), for example, were later added in an attempt to clarify the written language and bring it more into line with the spoken language however by the time they were added many of the people who remembered what had been spoken by muhammad were dead (0ften in battle) so there was much guesswork - the meaning of entire koran passages can be radically altered by removing or changing the diacritics.

    Thus endeth the lesson

  13. The british empire was acquired by accident more than design. We never had massive armies - whole swathes of India were controlled by chaps with swagger sticks and some local militias.

However stomping around forcing ideals, beliefs and religions on others has been going on since pre history - it's not a british phenomenon - although we tend to apologise about it the most. The two biggest religions, christianity and islam, were both often spread at the point of a sword.

Where is the 'we' in all this?

    I didn't.

Anyone from my generation didn't either - in fact no one from a good few generations did this - yet we've spend every decade apologising. If you can name one country that didn't try to take another's territory by force at some point then it's a valid reference point, thing is you can't, we just happened to be more successful than others. That's not to say I agree with the methods used, but you don't set out to loose a war.

I do agree you have a point somewhat with getting involved in some conflicts - however, your history lesson might need to include UN sanctioned action of which there are many.

Calling someone a paddy or a carrot cruncher is a massively different from calling someone raghead, the first terms are not intended as nasty, its affectionate leg pulling even, calling people ragheads is the complete opposite.

I'm outraged by the term paddy, you racist *****, you can shove your affectionate leg pulling up your arse.

I'm half Irish, that qualifies me to state the above.

I want an apology, and I want it now.

See how easy it is. (I am joking by the way)

It's funny how religion is an absolute no go area though - despite NO EVIDENCE, we can talk about rape, abortion, murder yet can't say to someone I think your messiah/prophet/god/saviour etc. is made up and you are all gullible.

  17. I see why I keep clear of religion and politics on here, as ex armed forces also tend to agree with Paradox comments and also spent years checking under the car and being checked on the way into base for bombs that had nothing to do with anyone that followed the muslim religion.

    Terrorist = Extremist

I served alongside some guys who were Muslim and am sure that 99.9999999% of Muslims will be horrified by what happened yesterday.

Now I am off back to read the posts about restoration and other VW related things

"controlled by chaps with swagger sticks and local militia" you make it sound so romantic! I'm sure the natives loved every minute.

  19. I have tried to stay out of this one as my emotions are running so high! I can't help it though cos I have been so upset and so shocked at what happened on the streets of our capital that I just feel that this thread needs to get back on track on what is important, and that is somebody,s son has been brutally murdered on the streets of our capital, we all feel outraged by that. Different people are expressing their views in different ways but in essence we are all saying the same thing and that is it is unacceptable!

Surely if these pair of scumbags are politically or racially motivated then what is happening on this thread is exactly what they want! People who used to be rubbing along just fine are suddenly at each others throats about the way in which we express our anger. Just reading all of this thread you can't presume that anybody who has posted is a racist, not in the real sense of the word, I won't dispute racist comments have been used but the individuals who have used them don't on a regular basis on here so clearly it is their anger and frustration talking not deep held beliefs.

Let us all just remember what has happened and agree that it is unacceptable and pull together as a group and help each other to deal with it, show a united front against unacceptable behaviour such as this and throughout remember to respect the poor family who have, through no fault of their own had to watch their own child be killed and mutilated on mainstream TV!

  20. I'm a Jock and I dont care about the tight fisted mean ginger jokes. It was never used as a derogatory term to keep me or my people subjugated or oppressed. I am all Scottish, not half. Therefore I am fully qualified to make fun of the Irish, Aussies, Welsh, English in a leg pulling way. Any of them that take offence at that can get *******. :)

However i do get your point Moons. But thanks for the heads up on your Irish half. Gives me some ammo for when you diss me for whatever idiotic thing I say. :)

The original use of the term raghead in this thread was used in a derogatory way. End of.

But I am heartened by the way the thread didnt get out of hand. Even though many of us disagree about many things. Everyone was still adult and debated without resort to insult or anger.

I do not wish to be surrounded by people of the same opinions as me. Variety is the spice of life and I also may be wrong and am open to intelligent discourse about why and how my tiny mind can be so mistaken about certain things.

On the whole in this thread people are expressing their anger about certain things and generally theyve done it in a sensible way, even if i disagree with them. Even I had a Nazi skinhead friend I liked. He was/is deluded but he could put a constructive and articulate if incorrect argument about without shouting. I do not dislike people for their opinions, even if i dont abide by them. This tenet is something to remember. I even have Tory friends. OMG!

Oh and why do i not get upset about scottish jokes? Because I sit in a position of superiority over everyone else in this world and look down condescendingly upon you all as I would a hamster falling over.
