Woolwich killing

  1. Its ok expressing yourself in times of shock and anger

Expressing yourself in a racist manner will do nobody any good

Im very distraught about what has happend a serviceman should feel safe on his own soil outside his own base
I spent years not wearing uniform or anything that tied me to the forces when i was outside of my camps
I spent years in fear checking underneath my car everytime i got in it

    I dont condone terrorism

I feel awfully for the family and freinds of the serviceman who lost his life in such a horrific way

However blaming such actions on ragheads implys anyone that wears a turban will carry out such actions is wrong

Ive seen the press report on the news tonight and i didnt see the people responsible wearing turbans

Those responsible for what they have done should be punished accordingly and even if they are that wont compensate for the tragic loss

  4. Stop me if I'm wrong but the fact that they are not dead may lead to them being able to show how they came to do this, who helped, who might be thinking of doing something similar, if there is a 'group' planning these attacks etc

I understand that they will end up costing money in our prison system but if it can stop this happening again then maybe we have to think about the bigger picture.

They wanted to be killed by our police/army as part of the cheap propoganda. Perhaps it's good that they weren't. Perhaps it's a pity they weren't.

  10. In my view anyone commiting that sort of horrific crime should not have an easy way out of a quick death
It may cost the tax payer money but im quite happy stumping up my tax to bring them back to health so our police and goverment can get the background and contacts if they werent acting alone

Ill say again what happend tonight is not tollerable in any way shape or form but being racist or rallying people for vigilante revenge is not the answer

Non of us are in full possesion of the facts yet so any assumptions are just that assumptions

I'd argue that for some, using that term helped them express their anger and frustration, so using it did help - again, your interpretation of its use is racist vis a vis the person saying it is also racist.

Neither is necessarily factually true...Rick met my ex, who was mixed race...I didn't find him wearing a pointy hat and burning crosses on my lawn.

People have the right to express themselves, personally I'd observe that people express themselves differently at times of emmotion, you can't damn them for that and it's unsafe to maintain that they should observe your particular conventions.

Incidentally...most people can see that an Aran headress is very distinctly different to a turban.

It seems we are furiously agreeing on the parts that should matter here.

  12. Another problem could be when they bring them to court - they can cause all sorts of problems. A bloke arrested in Australia during the riots over the mohammad film refused to stand up for the magistrate because she is a woman and he said its against his religion - instead of slapping him with a contempt of court order they compromised so she gets there before him and he leaves before her so he doesn't have to stand. In the US the Fort Hood murderer is refusing to shave his beard off as he says its a religious observance - but he is in a military court and its against the law for the accused to have facial hair in those courts - that has dragged on for months.

Frankly if you go around killing or rioting while shouting religious nonsense your rights to religious observances in court should be completely disregarded and any funny business adds another year to the sentence and so on. But we just compromise as ever, they have us over a barrel.

those of you trying to stick up for what i said there is no need, i know what i meant and so did the others who agreed or like my posts, i'm 45 i can express my views at a time like this how i want (no big clever words) those who slag me off for (in your opinion) having a racist view (because the media decides what terms are racist) are entitled to your opinion, just don't fall off your fence the next time you laugh at a joke that isn't a "knock knock" one, i doubt there's one person on here who's never made a "racist" joke in some way. I'm *******ed off on how this country is going down the pan thanks to acts like this, so what if i don't express it in a lefty namby pamby way, you go out on the streets or in any factory, more people talk that way than your fluffy world, message to self, don't have an opinion on tlb, sit on the fence and count your "likes" i'll stick to mech and tech from now on.

obviously in some peoples views it must be, not in mine, same as calling irish paddy or somerset carrot cruncher or welsh sheep shagger, difference is the media jump on the race card, look i ain't meant to come across like this and i didn't wanna argue about race, just to say i'm fed up with all these attacks, it's come across wrong to some of you, that's fine, as i say just make sure you laugh at the right jokes or stop off at the "convinience store" not the "p-shop" like a lot of people say.
