Right fess up time , who has the worst driving record on tlb ?.

i have been driving since 1978 and have had two fixed penaltys for speeding in a 40 mph zones ( both in good old Stafford upon camera ) and a couple of non fault accidents , i do drive lorrys and do up to 9 hours driving 5 days sometimes 6 a week , so not too bad !.

What about you is your record good or bad ?.

  2. I've been driving like a t**t for 24 years. Speed limits? What speed limits? Got three points 18 years ago for passing stationery traffic on double white lines on a motorcycle. That's it. Never been done for speeding. Bet I'm tempting fate now. Just had three accidents; hit a bollard taking my Mini too fast in the wet round a roundabout 20 years ago. Spun my classic Porsche 911 10 years ago, again too fast in the wet round a roundabout. The third and worse one was on the bike. Had a full-on head-on smash whilst on my way to watch the Monaco GP in 1998. It's amazing the things you think of in a second when you're facing death. I can remember flying through the air thinking 'where the hell did he come from', 'I don't want to die' and 'try and land on your backside, not on your head or neck'. It was a helicopter ambulance job as they thought I'd broken my neck. At hospital it turned out I'd just broken my big toe. Painful though.

hit a parked car in my cortina aged 18 - drove off sharpish so my fault.
got hit by an uninsured driver in my escort aged 20 - not my fault.
hit a car going round a blind bend in another escort aged 22 - got knock for knock.
pulled out of a carpark right into the side of a citroen aged 29 - my fault so i paid in cash and we didn't tell the insurance.
got pulled for speeding in my old landy but luckily was a panda car with no camera so only got a producer.
got done for no seat belt about 3 years ago £30 fine.
i have no points and never have had, and in the last 13 years i've been accident free.

  4. My driving record isnt too bad been done for speeding twice in 29 years and i average 60,000 miles a year.
Had 1 major accident when i ran up the back of a toyota, wrote of the company car and had to kick the tailgate window out to get out.

OOOHHH and i ran up the back of Magical Trevor. ???

  5. Speeding three times in 14 years. 1st was when I just passed, surprise. The other two was in the work van. Two accidents, 1st in my mini not long after passing, bad call on a roundabout and got hit, my fault. 2nd slowing and indicating to turn and person behind me kept driving, non fault.

    Not bad really

i reversed my lorry over a two day old scimitar ( the newer model ) in the 80s , i was'nt to blame as he literally drove under me when i was reversing , two blokes at the side of me stopped me going right over the top of him , when i got out my back bar was touching his windscreen .

Poor bloke was whiter than his car , turns out i popped the shell off the body - right off , no blame !.

Second was in wolverhampton market a 5 in the morning , i took a wrong turn going from one sainsbury to another in a artic , got to a bend by the market and saw the road blocked market vans unloading , i asked the guys if they would let me past , half hour later they still had'nt moved and i could'nt go back , so asked politely again they told me to go forth and multiply , so i did forward and took out two vans in the process .

they chased me up the road with sticks and knives , i went straight into dudley road police staion and the coppers took me back to the market , turns out they were parked on double yellow lines , they had no right to block the road and i got off no blame and no insurance claim for them , pheww .

  8. Have you noticed how many women have made a post here yet?

  9. i have been driving for 15 years and so far have no convictions ...

mrs marowak has points on her licence for reading a txt message (from me) at a set of lights ... the police pulled up next to her and fined her. the same police man then drove off whilst on his mobile phone ... :(

  10. Hmm...

Broken both my wrists, twice each. Broken collar bone. Shoulder. Every rib on left side and quite a few on other side. Broken and/or dislocated several fingers and toes.

Ive ridden 2 wheels since i was 16. I currently have 0 points on my license but i have had as much as 11 at one point about 4yrs ago.

Been done for speeding twice. 1st time was in the mid 80's when i was caught doing 67mph on a vespa rally 200 in a 50 zone - 3pnts and £400 fine. 2nd time (2000ish) caught doing 114mph on a triumph t955 on the M23 - 6pnts (judge was lenient due to note from employer) and £900 fine.

Have not written off any vehicle except a lambretta tv175 which i put into the side of a police car on this day at 12.30pm 1984. I was 19yrs old, it was my birthday and he turned in front of me. His fault. Didnt stop the sod trying to force a breathaliser into my face through my lid as i lay on the floor in agony with severely bruised hips, dislocated shoulder, cuts and bruises. The ambulance man put it succinctly. "havent you done enough to this poor lad you ******er". What a guy. Loved the gas and air too. Didnt love him putting my shoulder back though which hurt like hell even on the gas.

    I still ride bikes.

I've been done for speeding twice in 22 years - one was in Silverstone around 11 years ago, second was first day driving my transit van (had been hooning around in my Golf Gti for 2 years before that) - M1 was blocked, got done off a camera at 37 in a 30 in some village near Dunstable.

I've been hit maybe 7 times, none of which was my fault - most of them I was stationary!

Funniest was some giddy 17 year old girl who'd had her car 3 hours and smacked it into mine by the NEC (she'd just been to see take that). Her old man, on the phone, decides its my fault and comes down to 'sort me out' and then cacks himself when he sees I'm at least 3 stone heavier than him, and by then seriously p!ssed off with how things were going.

Most serious was being hit by an arctic in Silverstone. Car two cars in front late signals turning right and the car in front hits him. I stop. The arctic behind can't, hits me so hard I wrote my car off, and the one in front. My seat back snapped half way up - had big injuries to my shoulder and abdomen. Annoying fact was I'd had arond £900 engine work done to my car and had had it back 2 days (VW Corrado VR6), somehow this wasnt relvant to my claim. I lost my contract as I couldnt get to work - and the insurance company asserted it was my fault for 3 years (right up unti 20 minutes before we went to court as it happens - name rhymes with runts).

I don't speed in towns, never seen the need - but try to keep to the limit everywhere else (though I don't see the harm in gunning my bike on empty motorways at night - I want to get home!!)

Also - I avoid Silverstone now days.

Mrs M on the other hand has a penchant for knackering tyres/whole wheels on the front nearside, throwing her cars down embankments (60 feet down, flew for maybe 40 feet of it - damage was one wing and headlight, not even a scratch anywhere else!!) and last week smacked the rear quarter 'being stuck'. Still havent got to the bottom of that one. She's been driving 18 months. She makes Colt Seevers look a bumbling amateur.

She is good at parking to be fair - mainly by avoiding doing it - you have to bomb blast out of the car like the SAS, as she barely stops - shopping is like a mix of the Dukes of Hazard and The Last Good Friday.

Not too bad these driving records , accidents abound but actual blame points on the licence jobbys are thin on the ground ,injurys are plenty though !.

  16. The ironic thing is my speeding was in a 3 1/2 ton van, on the motorway where it changes from an M to an A. Not realising that it is classed as a goods vehicle I carry on at 70 when I should've been doing 60 and got gunned.

  17. speeding my main fault ....80 in a 30 zone =got 3 points and fine
    130 on m25 3 instant win points
100 on 40 zone ..got 4 points for that one
60 in a built up area 3 points .........never been banned yet and have currently no points...last fine was 1994 ...since then i been good boy and listen to my gps for speed cameras....thank you garmin and tom tom ,i love you
