So a ‘guy’ attacks a uniformed serving army officer….but it’s not terrorism as apparently they knew each other. A ‘guy’ stabs to death 3 innocent people in Nottingham, apparently motiveless. Another loon starts stabbing children in a playgroup….but that apparently isn’t terrorism. At this time we know the person under arrest is from Cardiff originally but no info on creed or religion. And there’s been a fair few others over the last couple of years that walk like a duck, quack like a duck but apparently it’s all mental health issues. Who classifies these incidents as for me it smells of b.s.? If this country wants to stop cascading into ‘Reform’ territory it needs to start either a new category for domestic terror (if we don’t have one) and growing some balls and calling these incidents what they are….that way we can prioritise funding. I’m a fairly middle of the road person…if I’m coming to these conclusions no wonder we’re seeing a rise of the far right.
To me, there is a deliberate ploy to downplay the terrorist aspect. Media reporting it as 'not terror related', but in reality the Counter Terrorism Police North West has offered their support to Merseyside Police but that the incident was not currently being treated as terror-related. You could also ask yourself, when Andy Burnham said he's seen the full footage of the Manchester airport violence days ago, why wasn't the first part of the footage released at the same time as the initial footage that brought widespread condemnation of the police?
It’s a bit like the news blackout on the Northern Ireland troubles. Make it not newsworthy and it subsides naturally. It’s a ploy to starve the terrorists of the coverage. If it works stick with it I say!
Did it work? All I can remember is repeated attacks until they got a suspension of activity to get the Good Friday Agreement in place. The War Is Over, or was it 'We Haven't Gone Away? Ironic really, as today is the first day of the inquiry of the Omagh Bombing, that killed more people than any other throughout the entire conflict. Anyone recall this from earlier this year? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crgyggw4z05o "A man who stabbed a stranger to death in an attack described by a judge as a terrorist act has been jailed for life. Moroccan asylum seeker Ahmed Alid, 45, roamed the streets in Hartlepool looking for a victim to attack in "revenge" for the Israel-Hamas conflict in October, the judge told Teesside Crown Court. He killed 70-year-old Terence Carney by stabbing him multiple times." No?
People wanting a safe place to live and freedom from oppression don’t one day wake up and suddenly don’t recall it as a need because it’s not been talked about in the papers. I’ll agree that those living comfortable lives in the west supporting various factions in the Middle East might forget as the live mostly vapid lives with no meaning and will move rapidly on to the next bandwagon, but NI wasn’t fixed by having an actors voice dubbed over Jerry Collins. The best way to die from cancer, is deny you have symptoms.
I know, I know but I tend to think the hangers on revel in the sensationalism and use it to further their usually corrupt causes!
First you must ask yourself “what is the definition of ‘Terror’. Does a ‘Terrorist, Terrify’? My wife is Terrified of spiders, dosnt make them Terrorists, or does it to people that are terrified of them? Personally, I think that these mad people just have a grudge on society whether it’s the military, establishments or some bloke has a bigger telly/ is doing better than them. Just sayin’
I'm amazed, for once in my life I agree with you It seems the mad people were on show yesterday in Stockport and should get the book thrown at them now! I feel sorry for the people and community trying to grieve whilst these yobs vent their anger.
I think it was shocking behaviour with those people. The ‘English Defence League’ wasn’t it? Ok, they always have something to say, but like you wrote, their timing wasn’t the greatest. Those poor people. It’s innocent children’s lives. When things like that happen, I can’t help thinking how I would feel, if it was any of my children, when they were tiny and defenceless. There really are some terrible people in this world. If there was a death penalty, I would happily put myself forward as an executioner, on cases like this, with absolutely no guilty conscience.
I think that labelling those people as EDL could be one of this county’s biggest mistakes. I suspect they are white people tired of being marginalised in their own country, tired of being last, tired of being told they must tolerate and integrate with groups of people who seem to make no effort to adopt to British ways of living no matter how many photo ops the middle classes take to promptly go home to areas with no ethnic minorities. Whether this is true is a different matter…but it feels like there’s a growing powder keg in many towns in the UK that the establishment are ignoring or simply mis labelling and the press are happily stoking. Personally, the action of murdering children (again) will only be tolerated so far by the average person. If you make the UK unsafe for its own citizens children to go to school etc, that may well be the straw that breaks the camels back. I have to temper those immediate thoughts with remembering to establish the facts….but this one doesn’t feel like an accident or someone forgetting to take his meds. I think historically the establishment at heart paid lip service to the average citizen, it maintained a veneer of ‘we’re all in it together’ and the press towed the line…..even if this was blatantly a lie. The modern more diverse establishment seem to make a point of not giving a s**t and the press are happy to pile in just to get clicks. Marry that with the collapse of social care, especially in poor areas and it smells of trouble. A really broken UK where people can’t get medical or community care, apparently there no justice, etc etc is a dangerous place. Having a minority to blame for it makes it a truly dangerous place.
No parent deserves to bury their child, without an incurable illness taking part. I stand strongly on this.
Terrorism is a simple definition and would suprise most how simple it is , and who or what groups can/are classed as terrorists, for example animal activists are classed as terrorist in most cases but not all
Don’t forget it’s the likes of Robinson, Hopkins, And of course Farage that are stirring this sort of thing up.
I can only say Wow...I think the poor downtrodden average white person should spend some *****ing time living here as a minority...be grateful where you live and what you have
