You make that sound like it’s a bad thing. Have you never gone downhill in a bath tub?

  2. Tbh, I think most of them should retire. They're all well past their prime.

  3. I think you are right - I saw the Stones back in 1970 - I seem to remember a rock star being asked how long they thought that they would last - they replied that it would be only few years - after all he couldn't imagine being a 40 year old dancing around on stage - which is why I don't want to see the Stones now - especially when tickets are over £100!

The Musical Box (tribute, but REALLY good) are as close as you're going to get

Most of the bands I'd want to see have deceased key members by now, or are irrevocably split. I did manage to tick a few off before the final curtain fell though

  5. I'd say very very few would be worth seeing. They're more like tribute bands...of themselves.

I have a “regrets” list of bands/artists I wish I’d seen, especially in their 70s prime, but these days I prefer to go and see acts who are in their prime now, and in smaller venues wherever possible. That said we are going to see They Might Be Giants later this year, not sure if they count as a band past their prime. We also have Father John Misty and Ron Sexsmith (who’s been going for years but still producing great new music) later this year. Oh, and @Merlin Cat , Cropredy as well :D

I know the boat has sailed but i would have liked to have seen RUSH .

To the other extreme, ive seen Joe Brown several times , brilliant on each occasion, his last tour cancelled because of covid and i recon he has hung his hat up forever now .

I didn’t really fancy going but my mate is going for his 60th. Because I’m not really “feeling” it, it’ll probably be really excellent

My son has seen both of these, and is a fan of both, particularly Fontaines DC. What I’ve heard of them I like too
