When did you join and why!!

i think ,I joined jk in 1998...

that is 19 years ago....

 

I joined twice as it is so good. First time a couple of years ago. And again last march as bought another bay. By far it is the most friendly forum around.

 

When I had no good reason to live, and knowing others feel the same here ,gave me strength and saved me .

I joined in 2013 after seeing references on E arly-Ba y joined there in 2008 but had been on JK since 2000 but got fed up with the way people were speaking to each other it's much nicer on her

 

2012. Had my van since 2005. Nice place to check out all the tips. Van still not on the road! Hopefully this year. Finally got my engine back in last week so I've got a good chance.

I joined 2015 after I bought my 1977 Viking which was a lot worse than I realised and it was being restored bit by bit by a one man band only to be found his work was no good.now in restoration and hopefully out this summer.

Another defecter from kamperchat in 2011. As said kc turned to merd, rustybay didnt have a forum really but there were some potential shenanigans at the time with t2oc, jk and rusty bay. Possibly down to rb consistemtly having significantly more members at vanfest than t2oc. Jk got a little strange and compromised i believe although im unsure quite what happened. Anyway, i came here, got a bit less political, met old vurtual friends and new ones and then went to a couple of te's and dubfreezes and met some real people. Ive enjoyed my time on here and hope that te continues despite the differences between people on here and blunderbus.

I bought my van in 2013. I went out to the garage in December to turn the engine over and the starter motor jammed. Kept turning over and over - even after I pulled out the key! In a panic I ran inside, engine still turning over, and googled it. Guess what helpful forum came up?
I quickly joined, put my panic struck problem and about three people instantly messaged back with what to do. Wish I had noted who they were. Relief!
Then they started taking the pi$$ of course - from then on I was hooked.
I've learned SO much since then, spent even more, and am having a blast along the way.

 

I joined just as it started, I had a late and early back then, I also have a split but the other forums are a bit quiet.

 

Few months ago after the old man bought a bus as it's handy for advice and tips on maintenance and stuff

I came across TLB whilst trying to sell an engine. I stayed because of the fellow weird camper van owners

I'm a right newby Sept 2015.. because VZI wasnt fun.. then spent a year asking how to fix things...Mostly the engine which needed a rebuild...after a bit of a clean went wrong!
