Westy continental, recovered but stock foam. More comfy than the bed at home

  8. We've only got 3" but it's good enough for us ;)

We only slept on it for the first time at RTTH but we were so comfy and slept like logs, although I do believe alcohol may have also helped ^-^

  9. 3" sounds more like a weener than a log to me

  10. We've got the 4" foam in our van and it's spot on. You don't go through it, and it's not so thick that you can't sort the cushions out when putting up the bed or putting it back down again.

  11. The foam for the rock & roll bed is 3 inches thick. I sleep perfectly well on it!

The foam for the bed in the roof (Westie) is 2 inches thick ... any thicker foam than this in the roof and it doesn't go away neatly ... nope, not a mistake we made ... a friend did tho!!

  13. we find the 3 inches on the bed foam fine it's where the bed is in chair mode we need more foam

  15. As I said it's not only about how thick it is, it's about the grade density.

You could have a 5" 32 density foam and you'd have a crap night sleep as it would be too soft. Just as 5" of 40h foam would be like sleeping on concrete.

  16. I cant belive the cost of foam for rock n roll beds

It looks like it will be a bed of nails for me lol

3" is very thin ...we have it and have to pop a double duvet under us for comfort but most of our customers go for 4" reflex -soft but firm the 5" version is lovely but really thick, i know it's only an extra in but is does look 'big'.

Don't forget that your foam should be topped off with some dacron (wadding) so that gives it extra cushion and softness much like the duvet we put beneath us -our foam isn't topped off with dacron sadly doh!!. But then we have trimmed our bus completely yet lol.

I should mention that the dacron is stuck to the foam so it's inside the vinyl cover.

  19. I've got 5 inches of foam on mine and find it very comfortable to sleep of sit on, wether I am on my back or side, doesn't seem to matter
