What style number plates do you run - poll

  1. Original yellow 1973 plate with the van on back and a crappy plastic white one on the front - if I could just find a company still doing the original allly backplate with plastic letters ...

I used to have black and silver plates on my older cars but like the originals best as everyone seems to have black and silver these days - hehehehehee

Black and silver pressed and never been asked or stopped about it touch wood.
Though the other week I got pulled over in the bug as the policeman thought it was too low. He radioed one of his team and the head of that department also had a low to the ground bug and said it was fine :)

  14. Raised black and silver, not legal on my 76 but where on when I got it, ricky hates em. 8)

  17. Hey,
I just wanted to point out that you can legally run pressed Yellow and White plates (ie. Modern). Which I run on my daily hack, the '03 Audi. But I'm only aware of one place that makes them; dubmeister.co.uk . They comply with all the new legislation's like BS mark, reflective background, etc. and you don't have to have the euro logo, but it will save you whacking a sticker on the van if you venture over the channel.

They still give a classic look but are legal O0

Anyway, HTH someone. Personally I run black and silver plates on my '73 bus, couldn't help myself >:D

  18. got a 79 bay and run pressed black and silver never had issue a friend is a copper and said wont get trouble as wrong sort of vehicle and alot think it a classic vehicle so allowed they only intrested in plates that might be used to commit a crime or deceive

  19. Legal plates, don't see the point in anything else as it saves the likelihood of any problems and I can get a replacement anywhere in the UK without a problem.

  20. Black and silver

Really ought to change the poll to differentiate between them running these legally or not

    1972 so we're legal
