What have you achieved today ...?

  1. So far today my biggest achievement is getting half-way through my 15 year-old daughter's birthday party (16 teenagers taking over the garden and kitchen) without shouting:

    1) turn that [crap] music down!
    2) take your shoes off before coming in!
    3) shut that b****y door!
    4) mind your language!
    5) no you can't stay later than 10pm!

My father would be disappointed in me, but the night is yet young and I could crumble on any one of the first 4 at any time!

  4. Easy to deal with. Start Dad-Dancing in the kitchen (a frenzied version of The Twist will do), or start a conversation along the lines of "I remember the first time your mother and I had sex". Any teenagers present will sprint for the door.

Finished stripping down the front brakes. Started to load the rear of the van onto the rollover jig but got cold feet as it was getting late and I didn't feel comfortable doing it on my own late at night.

  11. Cut the long grass in the garden, which was a lot.
    Re-felt the shed.

  19. Spare the rod, spoil the child. Doesn't anyone need chimneys sweeping in Soton? At least you'd get an income from them.
