Tax man takes a cut of Patreon funds I believe.

 

Perhaps what's needed is a donate button, lots of forums have these and no doubt XenForo forum software has the mechanics to set it up?

 

It takes from your donation so if you give 2 qiud it takes 20% I'm assuming the site ,"latebay" also would pay tax .
I'm not against paying tax at all btw.

 

I think it's Patreon that takes the cut?
But Patreon is not really what's needed for this kind of thing? I like it in general though it's really for selling things.
A simple paypal donate button at the top would do the job.

He showed us the cut that the tax man took.20% if I remember.

 

I wonder if you can claim that back in some circumstances, it sounds like being put on what used to be known as an emergency tax rate here when your employer didn't have your P60 from previous employer - you got hit but it all sorted out in the end.

 

Few users of TLB are normal, so that solves that problem

I'd be up for a donate button too, then you can appeal when the funds are looking iffy.
It works on these kind of sites because we all own expensive toys, pretty well nobody here would miss the odd £10 or £20 to keep the site going.

Why don't all of us who are insured by Cherish/A-Plan (and I'm sure there are quite a few) threaten to move our business elsewhere unless they continue to sponsor TLB?

 

Having done lots of advertising/sponsorship I would say that is very good value for the right company.
The Late Bay not only has lots of members, but they are very active and spend a huge amount of time on the site.
