They were cheap and they made panels you couldn't get elsewhere. Now you can get those panels anywhere and last time I looked they were far from cheap. There was also a lady who answered the phone who made me laugh a lot. I gave up on them as a restorer because they could not package panels without them getting damaged - that was 10+ years ago - stuff arrived in old push-bike boxes - Th last straw was when they replaced some damaged panels and the replacements arrived even more mangled than the original damaged panels. I just gave up with them, nice as they were as people.

 

Ok,my post was based on my experience with them. I guess others may have good or bad experience....as with many suppliers.

 

I bet they pack things properly these days! That really was their only fault and maybe it meant more to me as I was restoring buses and those kind of things messed up my work. I also shopped at Heritage merely because they were by far the most likely place to have everything I wanted in one hit. Messing about buying one bit here and one bit there cost more in time than just getting the lot at once and paying a small premium. Horses for courses - as a private buyer now I shop around.

 

Mine wasn't a positive one apparently the rear qtr light they sold me was the best money could buy .... if that was the best then hate to have fitted the worst

Joking apart.... Why not aim high ... Why doesn't someone approach Halfords .... I reckon it might not be such a daft idea

Seriously - that's exactly right, we don't want a main sponsor that sells us shoddy crud do we?

 

I’ve posted a few good reports about Halfrauds in the past. My local store is very helpful and friendly. The tools and batteries are good value and the trade card makes a big difference
