Had a phone call from my neighbour to tell me "Desmond's cover has come off and gone over the garage" Come home to a naked Desmond and no cover anywhere. I'm guessing someone has a large silver balloon in their garden.

Just taken the dog out for the mid afternoon walk ... was walking down the disused military railway and a big tree was blown down about 200yards from me, as I was surrounded by great big trees didn't hang around after that. and a bit of temporary fence I put up last september has been blown down too ... all happening down south
DORIS, really, that conjures up pictures of crochet blankets, victoria sponges , anti maccasars the smell of sunlight soap and roasting lamb, sugar bowls,lavender,rain hats,peoples friend magazines,perry como on the wireless..... I could go on.......oh I did.
Aircraft going into Gatwick must be being affected by the wind strength as only 4 over this morning instead of the usual one every three minutes. The Virgin Atlantic 747 was having a bumpy ride as it came over my house. Anyway did some gardening and dentist appointment this afternoon to have a root extracted, that was fun, now going for a walk.
I was going to take it down anyway, as the last big blow wrecked it. Quite pleased that the fence on the other side that I put up after the last big blow is rock solid
Whilst driving my Bay today I had to slightly correct the steering due to high wind. Only slightly mind so I am ok.
Got caught in the open ,in the park this morning cycling to work , branches going everywhere. 40-50mph gusts. Savage Rain. Had to stand behind a big plane tree for 15 minutes. Haven't had to do that for years. Anybody had the electric go down?
