Been looking and i believe if you were to be fitting the tins to your bus (and it was already built up and running) then all that is required is: Best to reduce oil level but not absoultely necessary undertins off rocker covers off rocker gear off remove pushrods, tube clips and tubes install tins replace above, setting tappets (if it hydraulic then thats a piece of wotsname) Drive away!!! best to have new rocker gaskets and a few spare PR tube o-rings in case they arent the best (could do them all if you wanted) I reckon and afternoon should more than see it done. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the cylinder tins and needing to have the heat xchangers off (cant see it!) My thoughts are put it back together so its running and moving and Im sure me and other folk would be more than happy to help with this. Could even go to techenders and do it there I suppose!!
The thought of rebuilding it temporarily and doing at techenders had crossed my mind, but i've just got off the phone from PIE (Dave) and hopefully we are doing it this Friday or Saturday so big thanks to him for this, i'm planning on plenty of other stuff at techenders i know i've driven it plenty with the tin missing but i didn't want to do another mile with it off, luckily fingers crossed i will be able to drive the van out of the building this weekend.
i've got everything that i would need if it doesn't go wrong, i bought all new pushrod seals and i got new rocker gaskets, like PIE said to me you never know what other "mods" the yankee dog mechanic made but hopefully i'll get a break, i'm going to have my dinner hour on it now and just double check i can't see anything blatantly staring at me.
Heat exchanger to head copper rings! - oil filter, oil, oil change kit for replacing the strainer. Grease for the rocker gaskets and PR tubes, cuddly toy..............
