I don't have a photo of this, but I have a red cable on the inside of the tailgate - when you pull it, it opens the tailgate. Kinda like an emergency exit cable. Reassuring when you're sleeping back there.

I don't have a photo of this, but I have a red cable on the inside of the tailgate - when you pull it, it opens the tailgate. Kinda like an emergency exit cable. Reassuring when you're sleeping back there.

That would be nice! It get's SO claustrophobic back there when you're trying to sleep. Did you install it yourself?
I also wish it had a handle so you could pull it shut from inside. I fell asleep listening to the ocean one night with the door up and the screen snapped in. About 3am I awoke to a torrential downpour. Bad enough my pillows were wet, then I had to crawl out of bed and go out in the rain and mud to close the damn thing.

I have similar, but mine is a flat bar that you push to open, also allows you to pull it shut . I had to take it off when Jnr was sleeping back there as he had a habit of playing with it - cue 18mth old rolling out the back...

I'm in process of installing a strip of LEDs into the engine bay, considering having them auto-on when open.

As for Mr Weeding and his shift light, I had to add a switch to my tacho to kill the backlight... it blinded me the first time I drove at night, couldn't even read roadsigns. So I have two toggle switches on the dash, with the fighter jet style covers over them - the kids believe their linked to missiles The other switch is to flick the voltmeter between both batteries

rickyrooo1 Hanging round like a bad smell

with ref to the led lights in the engine bay i did this and put a pin switch to trigger them and used the side light feed to power them so they are only live in the dark when you have the lights on.

Real life, it's the future.

I put in a cable rather than a push bar because I didn't want to accidentally open the tailgate with my head at night or by shifting cargo in the back of the van while driving. I found that jailbars make a really useful handle for pulling the tailgate shut from the inside.

I'd like to put LEDs in the engine bay - I'm going to install my firetec extinguisher soon, so I might have a go at this at the same time.

I'm OK in that department - farts float up into the poptop - being a dormobile top, there's vents that can be left open for them to escape.

I'd like to put LEDs in the engine bay - I'm going to install my firetec extinguisher soon, so I might have a go at this at the same time.

That's what I spent the afternoon doing, had to replace all the board that holds the soundproofing up before I could fit the Firetec... fun with the jigsaw that the original came out as

Anyway, its done now, Firetec and lights go in tomorrow
