Senior Republicans aren't just dropping him because he's an obnoxious buffoon, they're dropping him because they think he can't win now.
He is the only one that is likely to give isis a good kicking which is the appeal to the guntotting yank that thinks more guns at home makes the US safer but don't won't Johnny foreigner to have guns. What they don't seem to reliese is that to give them a good kicking will mean more American deaths than isis could cause if just political support/help given to the more moderate sides.
