My dad and his second eldest brother didn't have a middle but the eldest brother did, his mother said they couldn't afford middle names for all them.

My folks didn't give my brother or me middle names. My dad says as we've got a long surname it'd take too long to fill in forms if we had middle names too.

I like his logic.

 

I have a similar problem Government departments never have enough squares for my full name.
I've had to argue several times with officials that if they want a full name then they should accommodate those of us who have more than one middle name. My driving license just has Donald John on it because they are incapable of putting my full name into the space provided

 

I found out that 'Barney' is Mr Rubble's middle name - his full name is Bernard Barney Rubble
