Why don't we do a poll and have 1 TLB walking event for north, 1 south & 1 midlands? That way everyone gets to play & people from each region can go to other walks if they want to travel Just a thought?
I do a bit of work for the Peak District National Park Authority and know the area very well if that's any help to everyone.
Edale is a great base. The start of the Pennine Way or turn left and there's Kinder, and behind is Mam Tor and Castleton. Round walks for all abilities. Two not bad pubs. I think a few on here have stayed at Coopers which is alright but there's a farm near Jacobs ladder which has basic facilities but is much more laid back...campfires allowed etc...and don't take a 'noise deposit'.
We stayed there on Friday night Yorkshire... Great pies! And it's on the Tissington Trail. Very easy walk...but mainly a cycle path.
isn't this great we are getting fab walks posted that we would never have found ourselve's Edale does sound inviting .
