Para, at the end of the day you have to do what you think is right at the time. Family always comes first, but that is why i bought my camper. My van has always been a vehicle to camp in and spend quality time with my family. Time that you never have if you stay at home no matter how hard you try. It's just a bonus that it's a vw and my hobby. The amount of effort gone in to your van goes well beyond what most people would ever do and your soooo close now. Also it's not going to lose value once its up and running. I've had my van almost 8 years now and it can be a bit of a money pit but it's worth double what i paid for it. If i gave it away for free i've more than had my moneys worth with all the great times i've had with kid, family or friends. Don't rush in to anything, what ever all the best of luck mate.
So as it's not for sale into general we go Para surely without an engine it's a larger sleeping area?
I know its irrelevant, but its worth 10k all day long in my books.. And if I thought for a second that the bank loan wouldnt be the bain of the rest of my life then I would buy it tomorrow..
As much as that's true. If it was for sale somewhere other than Tlb he would probably get more there. Most on here know the paravan and couldn't even think of owning for themselves. It will always be the paravan. The only person, in my mind, is Paul weeding. He's put more into the van than anyone. Although, after all he's already done to it he's probably loathe to buy it for that much! What is a crappy ol Landy worth?
Oscar just for the fun of it go and look at landrover defender prices They are as daft as bus prices and dont even have a bed or cooker
Wind and rain up here i cant see nowt Im just a bit fed up of the landy jokes as i suspect paul is Paul did his research before we agreed the deal and he saw the landy before we agreed the deal He was most suprised what they fetched himself
Id say value for money landys are better than busses Even the cheap britpart stuff lasts longer than the german quality dub stuff Comparing the vehicles outside of pricing for age is like comparing goosgogs and rasberries
This is my thoughts at the moment but i dont want to end up worse off in money or practicality with a new alternative vehicle
I'd say landies are the perfect example of everything that was wrong with the British car industry. Brilliant, innovative design poorly executed with shoddy workmanship and cr@p quality parts. Range rovers are even worse, the control stalks feel like they were made as an after thought, half the switch gear is the same as I had in my spitfire(and mini) and probably the allegro. The control box for the power seats is a joke. Plus they rot like crazy. Sorry for the rant, I've just spent the day welding up a range rover classic.
