Not legal and vehicle class changes. It may even be considered a new car. But that's French stuff and I'm from Belgium.
Well no of this matters, I rung up VW today and they said the iBuzz it won't be about for another year and then another year for the wait
To be fair, he bought a cheap low range van intended to buzz about doing local trade then took it on a long run for a laugh.
Sadly physics and safety mean battery tech improvements are going to be incremental more like 10's percent rather than 100 percent... Some batteryc that reacts fluorine or oxygen with molten sulphur ? Teslas put in massive aircon for battery thermal management it helps lifetime, especially compared with cheap EVs like the Nissan Leaf, where sub 50 mile range is a thing.
The thing that popped up in that interesting 130 mile 5 hour drive was one of the charger points telling the user "no power for charging". I can also now understand why the bollards on the chargers get run over as the vans try to nose up to the charging point. As more people demand power, I expect the 1 hour wait becomes 3 or 4 hours as the chargers have to back off as the mains voltage browns out .. I wonder how long it will be before the first proper EV charging point queue punchup.
We have a lot to do to get ready for all new cars being EVs it looks like. I am going to apply to Dragon’s Den to secure a £100000 investment for 10% equity in my start up retro fitting Petrol motors to Electric cars.
Wow, childhood memories of playing outside my nan's house, at the end of the road was a Unigate depot. Used to get a lorry of milk delivered in the afternoon, with the empties loaded in crates for the return run. In the background was the dull buzz of a fleet of those floats, all plugged in to huge chargers for the early morning rounds the next day.
If they had gone into production, six months later you would've found loads of them at the local dump.
