  1. Took an hour to get my rear tinware on, as I had to beat my CSP heater tubes into submission. They serve a purpose, but are right beggars to bend. Also razor sharp, so good opportunity to lose several litres of blood

Finished off the drawer under the oven. Put all the crap back in.
Note to self: take out above mentioned crap and put in useful stuff.

Hopefully will be reporting later that the sliding door has been fiddled with, worn bits replaced, and is now sliding like a very smooth slidey thing.

Working on a few little rust signs bottom of sliding door.

I've learnt to take my time and not rush, generally the sanding, filling, painting comes out better.

Well didn’t manage to get as much done today as I hoped but tidied some of the wiring up, connected up the windscreen washer pipes then run into a problem of the steering wheel and nut didn’t fit the new steering column . Im going to send an email to Neil tomorrow for advice.

Ahh, that will be the later column that that unit is based on..
    Tapered splines early/crossover.
Straight splines on later than crossover.

Two ways forwards - change the Litesteer unit or change the steering wheel.

Oops, you bought the wrong kit for your bus year.

    Commiserations.

  8. If you've got a stock steering wheel, then yes it does sound like you ordered the wrong year. He does kits for both where the upper part differs.

Fixed oil pressure switch connection to loom using original post-fit insulator.
The loom wire needed to be trimmed back due some cracks.
I used a red nipple receptacle with a male pin connector and black heat shrink all to hide the the ghastly red joint.
Great fun I love doing this sort of stuff lol

  13. Have got straight splines or tapered ones? With luck you might be able just to swap out the upper shaft bit.

Yea I’ve got an email from him as well asking for nut size, year etc. As I sad I’m going to change the wheel for a slightly smaller size wooden one so apart from buying a new nut hopefully all good. The actual kit fitted a treat and seems very well made. The only change I had to make was using a longer bolt through the ignition housing to fix the control unit to no biggie.

Neil is a really helpful bloke. I would expect that whichever direction the “ error “ came from he would assist. It’s a while since. I got mine ( and Neil fitted it ) but I recall the steering nut size was relevant.

Painted some grey primer in the channel where the sliding door seal sits.
Ordered myself some decent yellow masking tape.

Note to self: this should've been done in the reverse order.
