I completely agree, I was born in 1960 and we had nothing until the mid 70's. After then we had new cars, foreign holidays and more and more consumer products, I carried on that trend during my 20's, 30's 40's etc. However we hadn't even heard of climate change until relatively recently so when we were doing our bad stuff we were effectively ignorant of any consequences. The current generation of teenagers and young adults are very aware of the consequences and therefore they need to carry the baton and start leading by example. Most of the young people I know seem to just carry on regardless either out of apathy or ignorance. The issue we have as first world nations though is somehow telling the emerging nations that they can't do or have the things that we did!
no wonder cockneys are strange -one of the biggest polluters of the thames is the Thames water company - 2 million fine for dumping raw sewerage into the river
That's brave! I would like it known that I DO NOT subscribe to the above views @Ermintrude @Merlin Cat
Is it just me or does anyone else get sick to the back teeth with people telling us how to live our lives. Now I'm a tolerant bloke but after so much yadder Have a look at the Cenotes of the Yucatan peninsula and the Blue Holes of Andros, formed when the seas were lower, last glacial maximum.
I can vouch for this. I went to a pub in Burton on Trent. The women had to sit in a different bar from the men. If you were a stranger to the pub, you also had to sit in there too! True storey!
I'd guess that if she isn't already been manipulated and controlled by some-one behind the scenes, that some-one (probably a middle-aged man) will start to very soon, and make a huge amount of money from her, that she and her cause will never share.
Years ago I went into a pub up north with me suvern mate from the army, I asked for a pint of bitter and a pint of lager(for him obviously) the barman said "we dont sell ladies pints" I said its for me mate there to which he replied "we dont sell lager to men"!!!!! how times have changed.

BBC Inside Science On now. Very interesting on the Science around global warming and rising sea levels. Not all doom and gloom, but quite sobering at the same time. Have a listen if you want, it’s on R4 now, so it’ll be on the Sounds app. Alternatively, the bloke down the pub is available most lunchtimes and evenings
