Just checked and im not sure what oil ive topped mine up with, first can was 10/30 and the one next to it 15/40. ah well it all good stuff and has to be an improvement on straight 30s. Incidentally I think ive got a full tin of Morris 30s if anyone want it cheap!

I'm pouring/pawing/looking over the Haynes wiring diagram. And I'm lost.
I have a fat red wire and a thin red wire going from the starter to the front of the van. Which should I replace? Thin, thick (that's me) or both?

This is more interesting than "what oil"

Basically, I have no power to dash. Is likely to be the thick red or the thin red wire? Sorry that's the best I can do. Been sat staring at the Haynes diagram, and not even sure if that's right as it says US models 72-73! Mines a 79.

Thick wire from starter to dash is power. Are you saying there is also a smaller one? is it connected to the same terminal?

Never mind oil! I've just bolloxed my distributor! took it out to change the points, got the gap spot on and tightening up the screw that holds the points down, hmmmm, I'll just tighten this one a wee bit more.....oh dear, knackered thread.........

I've got my pertronix, but not sure if I need that screw hole for that.... may need to pop out tomorrow for a new dizzy.....
