Swearing

i find that hard to believe....builders...offended by improper language....

 

Finally some sense here, I think Dog is right and we shouldn't have swearing.
Until everyone gets used to it, we're just going to continue to have these arguments about it.
Calm is what we need here, otherwise this'll just be another thread that gets locked.
Kids may not necessarily come on here, but that's no reason for us to swear with impunity.
Our site is all the better for not having the same sort of slanging matches that they have on 'other' forums.
Forums are for discussion and not potty-mouthed behaviour.
Fruit instead of swearwords sounds like fun though.

Should we have a decisive list showing what fruit refers to what swear word. Then people would know when they were being called a see you next Tuesday, or a tw@

 

We like to cap the amount of swearing and try keeping it under our hats. I wasn't always a builder, I was a lay preacher for a long time

 

This is not a change of rules - just a reminder. The swear filter has always been there. Some people just ignore that and change a letter. That makes a mockery of having a filter in place.

I don't expect kids do come on here - but some used to....
