Just trying to figure out the best place to put some speakers in my super viking camper. Dont really want to butcher the door cards so I though I would ask you guys for some inspiration. Any thoughts as to a good location for speakers in a super viking? Cheers in advance
Mine are on a shelf with lots of other bits awaiting the bus to come back I think im going to go with some round components in custom pods in the front doors with tweeters on the dash For the rear ill be fitting the 6x9s in custom pods mounted to the ceiling just in front of the rear hatch hinges
My Viking's got them in the door cards I'm afraid. The rear speakers are trim-taped into the overhead cupboard. If the passenger wants to turn the music down they just close the cupboard door!
Tweeters in the front vents and 3" in the air ducts... 3" in the deluxe rear vents. 10" sub between the front seats. 3" isn't big enough, I need some in between these and the sub to get the lower mid ranges but I haven't worked out where to hide them yet.
I built some raised pods into my kick panels for speakers. Nothing too garish, just enough to stop them aiming at the floor! Our door cards are trimmed in a different vinyl so at some point I will recover these and tidy up the button head screws for something a little more svelte!
Yep, went for the door cards too, but mounted the speakers on a piece of ply mounted inside the door to prevent vibration and add to the sound quality as I used good quality, quite powerful, home Hi Fi speakers. Rears will be in the bed front panel with matching covers and the sub in the middle with a stainless air vent from a boat, as a grille!
I put mine in the same position as Lazy Andy. I managed to fit in 6'' x 9''s mounted vertically. The good thing about that is that it means 3 of the screw holes are in the metal work behind the kick panel so it's nice and solid. Not a bad sound, the best I could get without cutting the door cards or cabinets.
Just curious to know how well your home HiFi speakers work and what your driving them with, home stuff always used to be 8ohm and in car stuff 4ohm and would struggle to work as well as it might, I have been out of that game for quite a while so feel free to put me straight?
I went for custom kick panels, and then the rear 7x 10's mounted in a custom rear hatch panel And a removeablesub enclosure under the rearseat Sounds good, but need to fit another amp for the rears
Someone had already hacked holes in my door cards for speakers (even tho none were fitted) So I had a measure up and found that 6x9s would drop in quite nicely!! Got another pair of 6x9s to go in the kick panel under the RnR too!!
