  4. Phew , good job you were wearing your jimjams, its cold out there.Have you told the police yet?

  5. keep an eye on the landy. and do anything you can to disable it over night. I used to have a pedal box that locked over all the pedals so you couldnt drive (at least) also used to take the wire off the fuel cutoff solenoid. anything to slow them down

  6. Have your vehicles got alarms?we used to have these strong steel devices which locked our vehicles in reverse when i lived in South Africa as well as hidden switches, fish hooks tied under the dash too works a treat if you want to catch a thief!

That's crap. If you don't plan on using the bus for a while, remove a wheel.

  11. It's horrible when you've had a close encounter with a thief...it can be pretty un-nerving, but at the same time you feel outraged that someone has the gall to think they can just come and steal whatever they like, with no thought for the victim.
In some ways, though, it can be a real spur to take stock of your current security set-up, and invest in some decent deterrents...you'll feel all the better for it.
Shame you have to resort to it, but such is the world we live in.

    Go Womble...

    What Moons said.
No-one looks in a locked vehicle for its keys.
I guess they saw bags and thought they'd hit pay dirt.
    Still a nightmare though.

  14. I know someone who had his camper broken into and they took really random stuff 2! Left his sat nav! They must be worthless these days! Did more damage getting in than anything. Cut off their hands!

  15. I never lock the camper as it has nothing of value in it and I'd rather someone didn't make a mess of the doors trying to get in. The landy is - typically - always locked, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr except for the last 2 nights as the battery on the fob had gone and wouldn't lock the doors  Sods law eh.

The camper has an immobiliser which is practically never turned on because whenever I do I forget and it gives me a heart attack when the engine won't start :gnome: Immobiliser is now switched ON!

I am going to park the camper right outside the front door and put the landy behind it, they will have to walk right in front of the barn door where the dog sleeps in order to get to it. which is now lit up like Christmas, rather than at the far (dark) end of the drive. Have manually locked the landy so if they do try to get in then at least the alarm will go off.

Oooh just watch em try. Never mind the dog, I think I'd flipping kill them :theforce:

Imho not locking it is daft! Your insurer wouldn't be too impressed.

Stuff like this puts you on security alert ......

I have caught lots of people who have tried to rob me ,one guy kicked a bottom panel out of my back door in my old flat when I was in the bath...

Keep the Corpse Bride outfit ready to chase them off in, don't think they'd come back after that!

  20. lazyness in my case and non of my vehicles are worth stealing....Kinda agree about leaving them open as well to reduce the risk of window breakage lock damage and it is a kinda trap for them.....
