  12. How "easy" is it really to remove a Type 4 2.0l lump and what tools would I need other than spanners and screwdrivers?

I've only ever done a bug engine twice and that was many moons a go!

  14. Four bolts holding the engine bar, four bolts holding the gearbox to the engine. A few wires to unplug. Fuel line to be removed. Some of the tinware needs to be removed. Then it's a case of wiggle, pull, drop over and over until its out. About 45 mins after practice

  15. How high has the rear end of my bus gotta be to obtain suitable clearance?

  16. High.

If your dropping the engine down onto a roll board like I do then quite high. Two foot(?) best bet it to roughly measure the total height of the engine from sump to the top of the carbs

  17. Damn, that's not happening then :-(

  18. below the drivers seat there is a "pull out" handle/leaver connected to a cable >>>dunno ?????

  20. I was looking under the front of Dougal the other day and there seems to be a large container, metal, almost sump like, I've looked in my Haynes but nothing, any clues ?, under the front bumper
