    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

    Ma previously completely sane mother went doolally when admitted to hosp after she fell and broke her hip. Then they changed all her Parkinsons meds and she contracted mrsa so they wouldn't let her out. Bliddy hospitals.
    She did get a lot better once my dad got her out of there eventually (months) and under her regular specialist in an care home, but she never made it home. :(

    Bless him.

    Made me well up looking at him.

    Brought back memories of tough times with my own dad a few years back.
    Hope you can find a way forward so that he is at least cared for in an appropriate way that’s best for him.

    They’re a flipping nightmare! Well done on your dad getting her out of the hospital before it was too late for your mums health, even tho too late to come home :(.

    The hospital changed a set of Dad’s meds but had made no checks if ok. Fortunately we found out and told them that he had been taken off the ones they gave him a couple of years before as it affected him adversely. Problem was this may have affected his chance of discharge and so another week passed and another week of hospital induced deterioration. :mad::mad::mad::(:(:(

    thanks, sorry about your mum. I think if dad had been a lot worse before he went into hospital I would be less angry and upset but the massive deterioration from being in hospital is dreadful, and I feel could have been avoided.

    My dad was there every day from 12 to 5 then 7 to 9, sometimes all day. If he hadn't they'd have just let her starve to death because she needed a lot of time and encouragement. Same in the expensive nursing home.

    Before she broke her hip she was in better form than she had been for years. :(
