I would have liked to take my dad to see his brother in law on the train. We're in Lincoln, he's in Rugby, it's 75 miles by road. On the train we have to change at Peterborough then travel right down to Kings Cross, across London to Euston then back up to Rugby. Time 3 1/2 hours average. I could do this journey as quickly on a bicycle if I was younger.

I like the bit where Virgin Trains broke their data protection agreement by showing everybody a security camera video of an identified person... However I think that sitting on the floor of a train is a bit of a lame political stunt. He reduced my opinion of him from "too nice to be a pub landlord" to "halfhearted"
