My trend one nearly made my whole interior and came with a box of bits. Got another cheapy one now which is fine. Just get a cheap one. Mind your fingers. Get some proper ear defenders, not those rubbish yellow ones.
the B & Q own brand 'Performance Pro' (or something like that) is really good value for what you get....1/4 and 1/2 inch collets and some bits....if you're planning on doing an new interior plus other DIY, buy a flat plate for it (whatever you decide to buy) A secondhand Freud would be money well spent...avoid the 110 stuff...it's usually battered on a daily basis by traders
Trend is ok, but you got to understand that they are not as good as others in theri individual price brackets. Trend is what i would consider hobbyist. When comparing to other routers like the hitachi, the hitachi wins hands down on durability, power and robustness. However each to their own. I would never buy dewalt as i consider that to be a site worker's tool, but there is nothing wrong with it. Maybe i just dont like the colour. I think if its for sale in B and Q then its not for me.
Right, Trend on order. Just want to do a bit of rebating on ply. @PSG: if you're using a template, I assume the boss on the end of the router follows the template, yes?
you'd use a collar around the cutter and then measure the distance between the collar and cutter edge (x mm)....make your jig template x mm bigger easier to understand once you've got the router in front of you
