You made a big fuss about it. That's why. You're like a word change magnet :)
I for one am interested in your plans as I've been looking at possible beds etc for my t4. I have folding t5 seats in the back at the moment but would like to switch to a rock and roll of some sort. Trouble is all the vinyl ones look cheap and completely out of place unless you redo all of the seats!

Can you do just the fronts so you can blend the rears like that one at the top?

My brain thought that the windows have steel bits in between like a bay...

I love the idea of a blank canvas to work your own design and style on. I'll happily follow your "modifying my van" thread.

  4. are you sure ;)

We had no cash at time of kitting ours out so went budget vinyl and now they've split on the stitching so we are buying leather to recover.

On the window front. Make sure you get the opening ones. It gets bloody hot in the back without them. They may not look as nice as a flat non opener but they are definitely needed.

we aren't comparing mine vs yours though, what the comparrison needs to factor ismy bay way £15.500 at point of sale, it required paint and prep - tou saw it close - every panel had a dink or scratch, £6k for a semi decent paint job takes it to £21k then it needed the interior tidying and maybe gearbox work, so we're upto probably £9k in bits to make it look good andstill do 18mpg 60mph...... i alays knew after 5 years of owning and the loan being paid off i'd have to move it on or invest in it, the time was right to move on. this t5 will be a better van for my needs but not better for those not paying the bills to comment on.

  8. Rick, I for one am interested in seeing what you do with so keep posting.
As for the stick you're getting you need to chill. I personally don't give a Marmite what van people on here have, but it is a latebay site so if you don't own one you should expect some p iss taking. We've all given Malc and Matt stick for their horse boxes and the likes of Pete for not owning a bus anymore. The reason the others haven't had as much is because they've not made a big a fuss about it.
Don't justify what you've done and what you're doing to anyone, I've put a scooby lump in my bus, my justification.... Because I wanted to.

I think it's just the overall look of them that irritate me too. My seats look lovely and fit in with the standard grey van theme. All the ones I look at have an awkward looking shape! If I'm spending a grand I want something aesthetically pleasing

i'm not fussed if the bed doesn't match the fronts initially, i will get the bed done in the style we decide the fronts will eventually be, functunality over looks for a while.

Yes that's what any rear passengers tell me, I will be fitting a solar air vent in the roof so it can vent without need for windows left open when parked up.

as i said i don't mind the pee takes but the total out of context word change that makes the sentence look totally crap is stupid.

the glass is bonded on in 4 seperate pieces you can do 1/2/3/4 at a time as funds allow.

the irony isn't lost on me, however you can't tell glass wise once done as they are bonded into the recess the same as the shuttle/kombi

I bought mine already with windows in so had no choice. And it's been a work van till now. Kind of been praying for one to break so I'm forced to replace it lol
