    @khris where are you based?

  3. @ Terrordales, I work in Thailand and the parts are in Singapore.
I got RAT to ship to Singapore originally due to the horrendous automotive import tax system in Thailand
If you are interested, we can work out a deal on Freight etc....

  4. we would always advise TLB members not to send PayPal payments for items not in UK or wait until goods are received

  8. Hi Silver,

Pls make me a fair offer. I am not looking for a profit at all.. just hoping to recover some money that I have invested in...
At this point, I am open to all ideas on ensuring that this deal provides protection for both buyer and seller.
    Whereabouts in UK are you?

  9. Hi Guys,

I did not realize that how dodgy this advert sounded until Marowak pointed it out...
So, pls allow me introduce myself and hopefully, will regain some trust in the fellow TLB members.

My name is Khris, born in Singapore and currently reside in Chonburi, Thailand.
My ex-late bayindow and my 68 1200 Bug is in Thailand.
I have lived in Manchester UK for about 3 years when pursuing higher education and believe it or not, I miss UK as it is bloody hot here!
I was planning to do a complete engine overhaul of my late bay and was sourcing for upgraded cylinder heads and cam.
I have contacted stateside in UK, RAT in US, Adrain @ headflow master in US and have finally chose RAT due to their reputation.
However, I was notified by my company that I will be made redundant soon and so, I have sold my bus and also need to sell off the parts that I bought.
I will keep my 68 bug for now as I have invested too much money into it...it has a newly built 2276 engine with FK8 cam etc..

Due to the horrendous tax import system of new autoparts in Thailand, I have all new parts that I bought overseas shipped to my Singapore address and then, handcarry them here when I go back to Singpoare to visit my folks. I have source and purchase parts from UK and US for my bug and bus i.e. Flipped spindles from T2D, Busdepot US, Pierside parts US etc

The VW scene in Thailand is pretty big.. there is a annual Bangkok VW show which occurs in Feb. I know Pat who is the president of Thaivwclub thailand and well known in the local/international VW scene. There are some locally made window seals made from latex and sold by Bannrodvolk which some of you maybe familiar with..

Here is a picture of me and my ex-bus... it is a 1977 Kombi, very dry and straight with mostly original paint.. its got T2D flipped spindles in the front, T2D Coil over shocks, T2D adjustable spring plates in the rear (which I believe should be creative engineering parts), a Dakota Digital CHT gauge. Engine was stock when I sold it, CJ code Type IV with dual Solex carbs and SVDA disty. I miss my bus though.. :(
Another pic of the entire family...bus and bug...

Hopefully this brief write up will show that this is an authentic deal..

    Cheers,

    Khris

  11. I've looked at this kit lots of times but could never afford it, even with a big discount.
    Good luck with the sale.

  12. Hi Khris - thanks for that intro - I hope you are able to also stick around and join in some of the discussions.
It's great to know that TLB reaches far and wide and it's always nice to have new people here.

    Good luck with the sale.

Hi Khris, I've seen some of Pat's work on a thread somewhere - superb work and a great guy. Bad luck on being made redundant. :(

Hello & Welcome from The Colonial Contingent Khris :hattip:
I'd hate to think what the Kombi & the Beetle would cost to register in Singapore

If as stated the VW scene is big in Thailand, I would suggest this is the best and simplest place to sell these parts.

  16. Thanks for the welcome marowak, actually, I have been reading and learning in TLB forum in the past for quite sometime..

  17. Yes, Pat is a great guy and he's got a warehouse full for NOS parts not to mention this collection of VWs. He also organizes VW drive trips from Thailand to Laos/China, Malaysia etc..
Thats life in a MNC I guess.. everyone is replaceable.

  18. Thank you Terrordales, luckily my VWs is in Thailand cos you have to be pretty loaded to own classic cars in Singapore...

Having lived in both Singapore & Thailand I can understand why you'd keep them in Thailand. You have to be pretty loaded to own any car in Singapore :)
