Porsche seats?

I'm considering changing my front seats to Porsche or maybe Saab? I've seen lots of pics showing these seats fitted and was wondering what sort of a job it was?
Do they need runners from a vw bolting/welding on? The only thing that I've read that I was a bit concerned about is the increase in height if any?

I've got some Porsche's in mine and I think they look the dogs. Just bolted in.

 

They look fantastic! I'm guessing they're a bit more comfy than the originals??!!
When you say they bolted straight in do you mean you used the Porsche runners or did they have vw runners?

 

What model Porsche are they out of? 944/924 seem fairly cheap on ebay

I picked up a pair of brown 924's with runners etc for £5.50 collected ;D still awaiting fitting.

 

couple of oldish pics of mine when I first installed them... as already said, drill out the spot welds on the old runners, and just bolt the porka seats in... remember to put a spreader plate in on the bolts so they can't pull through the wheel tub!!

That's a lot of auxiliary gauges Paul, are you running a special engine?

 

Just started reading your restoration so the engine question has been answered!!

 

What on average do these fetch on ebay? I want some to get recovered but don't want to pay over the odds!

They vary depending on quality and spec... £100 to £250... poss more

 

A pair of 944/924 have just gone for £62.00 on ebay
