this is the controller for our heating/hot water and now the stupid thing won't shut off. It doesn't seem to matter where the hot water switch is the boiler keeps coming on.
I've tried wanging the slider backwards and forwards and that usually does the trick but not today.

Is it worth turning all the 'leccy' off and pulling it apart to give the switch a clean?
If not is anyone able to tell me exactly what model controller this is so I can buy a new one?

It needs to be EXACTLY the same because I'm rubbish at electrics but very good at copying like for like wiring.

Picture to follow because I forgot to write this on tapatalk.

I would pull the front off, probably one of the sliders has broken the plastic off

  8. You need a new controller. That one looks about 30 years old.

  10. It's a trusty old Honeywell, and I believe they still make them. Great little things. Screwfix might have them. Easy enough to swap over. Out with the old, in with the new. There's hardly any wiring.

Screwfix know this themselves, hence the £105 price tag for an exact match.

  12. I have a new Danfoss one. Suggest you pay a gas safe fitter to install it for you.

    I don't need a new head and that's 60 years old.

There's hardly any gas goes through it so why would I want a gas fitter to screw up some terminals?

  16. ^this. It's a mains feed and a couple of cables to the motorised valves. Half-hour job. It's just as good as a more recent controller, as they're doing exactly the same thing...

  19. For a small cost I got a local gas fitter to supply the Danfoss, wire it in and check it all worked. It was easy for me. Job done.
