If I want something kept out of sight, I let Ms.T pack it that way I'm guaranteed to be unable to find it so I guess your average tea leaf will be at least as incompetent as I am.

A bit of an update on camera storage. This case has now been rejected,

and after making a quick mock up of the 'secret' underfloor storage,

I've decided that it's going to be far too much 'faffing about' getting the stuff in and out of the hidey hole and the case each time.
So, I've padded the inside of one of the drawers and made a little rack to keep all the lenses secure, simple to get to and out of sight.

  4. Have you got a cash/card/passport safe Bob?
I bought some interior stuff and in amongst it is a lockable bolt through safe. You are welcome to borrow it for your trip, I can't see Desmond needing it this side of easter.
    Easily posted up to you.

  5. I made this storage box between the seat and have storage in the buddy toilet seat on the left

You can see my tool kit tucked down the side of the loo. Thieves broke in riffled through all my drawers and cupboard and stole my tool kit.

If they have time and it's worth selling they'l find it!

I haven't, I was just going to rely on hiding those sorts of things. Thanks for the offer of the safe but I'm not too sure what I'd bolt it to.

There isn't really any sensible security that will protect against the Neanderthals that still manage to stumble mindlessly between drug fixes.
The odds are on my side though, that I won't get my van broken into or stolen and set on fire.

  8. Yeah I was unlucky.

  9. Have you read `Papillion` ??
How about a charger ?

Flat valuables such as cash , cards , passport etc could be stashed in an envelope and zipped into the cushion covers - assuming you have zips on your covers ??

    Just a thought ...

  10. I was toying with the idea of above the battery in the noisy cupboard

  11. You can buy a car safe which has a lockable steel box and long thick cable attached that can go round the rock and roll bed hinges or a travel bag/safe that also has a long thick cable and can go round the bed hinges. Safe about £25 and travel safe about £35 both on ebay/amazon.

No, I'm going to trust optimism and confident cheerfulness to see me through.

There is quite a lot of space behind the paint tin lid in the engine bay but any aging hippie will probably beeline straight for it because his stash might still be in there.... And another substantial space to the left of the fuel tank.
