I've just made a new case for my camera equipment and need somewhere out of sight to keep it safe while I'm away from the van. Usually if I leave something valuable in a car it's either in the glove box or the boot, safe from prying eyes but that's not an option in this case as it's too big for the glove box and a van doesn't have a boot. I was looking for a better option than just hiding it under a pile of clothes so hoped it would fit in the space inside the water/gas/propex cupboard. Then Sod's law intervened and the case is slightly too long one way, and slightly too tall the other, So I'm going to make a false floor for the walk through which will (hopefully) just look like a floor but have space underneath to store the box. Hopefully any scrotes wandering past won't see anything they feel the need to smash windows and steal for drug money.
what about making a box like some have on here with the cup holders into the walk through. it could have a pull out drawer or one that just fits over your camera box......
Yeah, that's pretty much what it'll be but much lower, about 4" and disguised to look like just another lumpy bit of floor. The whole thing will be carpeted and I may use magnets to make a secret locking mechanism.
It's slightly too big to go under the front seats and under the bed will be full of other stuff like beer and spirits.
That a good idea, nothing could possibly go wrong at each border crossing I may label up another box for ammunition and grenades.
I would, but I hate the way time slows down as you approach the event horizon. My van goes slow enough as it is.
I did think about that but then though, "What are the chances of a scrote or toe rag reading this, oh wait, what I meant to say was. What are the chances of one of these scummy opportunist thieves reading...."
