If I won the lotto , I could spend billions on cars, dead easy. And even though I enjoy my job I would NEVER go back again

My brother had a Toledo and a Dolly at one point. Lovely cars, but not that colour, because he wasn't a hairdresser ;)

When I was 12 in the early 70's I was impressed by a Splitty. We camped opposite some Dutch hippies in Spain for 2 weeks - 1972 - two pretty women, one dude - they had cool hippy clothes, my dad put on a shirt and pressed trousers in the evening. We had a frame tent, they had a hippy painted Splitty and a camouflage net. They were congenially laughing about, chatting non-stop and BBQing, we were playing monopoly and eating Vesta meals. It was an eye opener for me, sheltered life that I had.
    I didn't actually want a Splitty though. :)

When I was 12-13 what I wanted was a beach buggy with fat tyres.

I then realised that it was as much use to me in west London as a speedboat from Bullseye to a couple from Leicester! :)

It’s a Douglas timber tractor built from AEC parts, so says basically a Matador. I like the living van at the back too.

  20. I had a Marina for years. Went back and forth from Barnsley to Germany loads of times, never let me down just moved along at a steady 70.
They had a peculiar lower steering point like a screw thread and socket to maintain steering geometry when cornering that failed a couple of times.
Purchased it in 1972 sold it in 1981,
