  2. so, so far we have:

Brucieboy 4.5" to 5" drop Coilovers
Top Banana Racing 2" to 4" drop Coilovers
    Jimmy1975t2 Bay Twin Wishbone Coilovers

    keep em coming guys!

  3. Just to add, I have the coilover kit 2-4" drop fitted - handles well and feels good. A one day fit, easy to do!

  4. is the ride really hard at 4 inch lowered? how low do you have yours? im thinking of the 4.5 to 5 inch drop but dont want it as a bone shaker, get enough of that from my decked mk1! like a smooth ride on my bay, if coilovers only give a really hard ride I may have to think again!

  5. Hi brucieboy - I run my 2-4" drops at the lowest I can (4" !!) and find the ride quite good - its certainly not choppy and I would say pretty much the same as stock when it comes to rough roads.

I'm running stock 14" steels and about to change to 15" Audi alloys, I doubt this will alter it much. Chatted to those at red9 prior to purchase and they helped a great deal - talked through the ride issues and its much as they suggested.
    Cheers

  6. an ok cool, so if you were to buy them again, would you go for the same ones or would you drop it that bit more to the 4.5 to 5 inch drop? or is that what they advised against and said to go for the 2 to 4 inch drop?

also does the ride quality change between the 2 inch and the 4 inch drop?

    sorry for the bombardment lol

  7. I think I would probably go for the 4-5.5" if I had my time again, for no other reason than I think the stance would look better with the Horseshoe plates I have at the rear! In my opinion the ride is the same at 2 or 4 " drop (and I have tried all settings in between!)

If I remember rightly when I talked to the lads at red9, the lower drop coilovers would be a bit stiffer but they still suggested that the ride would not be too harsh - I just made the decsion not to go too low as I wanted the best of both worlds - keeping some clearance for camping fields etc..!

  10. I could really be tempted by the wishbone kit if it hits the 20% mark. Only trouble might be the wife

Have you thought about posting this on the earlybay to help with numbers?

  11. No problem Lazy A...

  20. Just got mine fitted and I must say very easy to do. The whole job was done with 5 hours with 2 people working on it (and a couple of tea breaks). I went for the 4 - 5.5 kit and running on 165/65/15 wheels.
