Nice attack

  1. Exactly. What has "the west" ever done to Tunisia to warrant his annoyance at the western world, in particular France, the very country that has been his home for x number of years.

The only reason these attackers are attacking the west is because they are Muslim (some will argue they aren't) and that as part of the Muslim brotherhood (not the Egyptian political party), and the idea of a Caliphate, is that they must attack any aggressors.

  2. Oh I know they were attacking the west, I think it's just 9/11 was the point where the west said, that's enough, we're going to put an end to this.
    Oh how wrong they were.

The Iraq invasion was the only one in recent times that wasn't linked to ISIS/AQ related terrorism.

  3. The ISIS thing is driven by a sectarian conflict between Sunni and Shia. They are being armed and financed by Islamic governments in a proxy war. They have exploited a weakened Syria and Iraq, both you could argue are internal wars between factions. The West is also their enemy.

  4. Another sickening attack on innocent people.

It has been suggested that such attacks would increase as Isis lose territory elsewhere, I was reading yesterday or the day before that the ground they have lost in the last two years is significant, http://indy100.independent.co.uk/ar...-that-isis-doesnt-want-you-to-see--W1QwSdDoHW It is much easier for them to spread their propaganda in the west by such actions. The middle east is such a complicated mess I don't believe sending ground troops in is a sensible option.

Isn't part of the problem the lack of money to properly keep control in our prisons. I can remember reading that the internal 'gangs' take people under their wing and this is just another of the gangs that offer people protection from others whilst inside.

  5. I'm not sure if I agree with that map. It would be safe to assume that the unpopulated areas in-between the dark grey areas are also ISIS controlled. It's like saying that the Highlands are not part of Scotland. Change the colours and it's massive with 56 million dollars a month in revenue. They will have no hope in cutting off their oil revenue just as we couldn't stop Afghanistan's heroin trade.

Removing Saddam from Kuwait was very quick and effective, send a wave of tanks and troops in and retake the oil fields. How could it get any worse?

  6. I was part of the Op Granby forces. Pushing the Iraqis out of Kuwait was something completely different to removing Isis from the planet.

  9. Said on the radio today that the police had spoken to the bloke earlier in the day, because he had been sat in the lorry for over 9 hours before the attack.
Obviously the police can't predict the future, but those officers must be kicking themselves now.

  10. As is always the way, it's gonna be a case of "what if".

Like what if the first police officers had shot him dead, none of this would have happened.

    :(

  11. Yeah nothing they could of done different, they weren't to know.
But it'll be playing on their minds 'what if'.

  12. Absolutely.
And there's only one person to blame for all this :(

  13. Yes, I did at least I think I did? My last shirt from the trip was the Fosters lager Bahrain Hash House Harriers ... that went in the bin a few years ago. I have a couple of Iraqi AA shells here in the office with me and on the wall my chart of all the mine fields.

  14. Reading the Quran would put you in that state of mind:

-Quran 8:12: "Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: 'I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.'"

-Quran 8:59: "The infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah's enemy."

The link below describes how to answer Islamophobic Claims, "Does the Quran command Muslims to terrorise non-believers?" They would claim that these passages were written about a battle and are out of context. But excuse me, Muslims are fighting a battle at the moment, horrific attacks on France every other month. Should France not admit that they are in a war instead of telling French citizens to "learn to live with terrorism"? Surely that is an encouragement for more ISIS attacks.

I couldn't give a stuff about their religion, anyone who does this is sick in the head, it's a shame they couldn't have made his death much slower and painful.
