Unfortunately they are human, but have different beliefs to me. Killing is wrong. I don't want to share a country with people who believe killing is right.

This is a tragic day. There is a reason why there have been so many civilian attacks on Europe. ISIS want to fight western soldiers on the battle field, but we have denied them that battle and drop bombs on them instead. So having nobody to fight, they retaliate by attacking our cities. We are too afraid to commit troops after Iraq, perhaps we should give them a proper fight instead?
Not if you lived in Belfast in the 70s, this was a daily event, but not on these levels of casualties. There were a few horrifying attacks like the Enniskillen Poppy Day massacre, but this was a propaganda failure for the IRA and they lost a lot of support from moderates, so these attacks were scaled back. ISIS don't have any kind of pressure on them from their sympathizers, total destruction of the West is their goal. No deal can be done with them, no reasoning with them, they are lunatics and they live amongst us. There are extreme measures which could be taken to protect our way of life, but liberals would be horrified.
You say "these people" but how many of the terrorists actually lived in Syria/Iraq/Afghanistan, or were even of Syrian/Iraqi/Afghan background, and were forced out by "the west". I know the saying of "they started it" is a bit of a cliche, but you have to argue that the 9/11 attacks were the precursor for everything that happens today.

Islamic extremists were bombing the west before 9/11 and Iraq. I suppose getting involved in their affairs and arming regimes doesn't help. Terrorists will look to exploit any tragedy or isolated incident for propaganda and to recruit soldiers, it doesn't take much to set it off...the actions of one soldier or the actions of an entire army. I was reading a report about prisoners in the UK were converting to Islam and being exposed to extremism. It's very easy to do, exploit the prisoners resentment against the system for whichever common crime they went in for and offer the path to freedom.
