I'm happy to go on record from a personal perspective, you should dispatch as humanly as possible as it will struggle to survive without you and is not domesticated rat - if you release, you are making it someone else's problem and quite probably giving it a short and tragic life.


I'm sorry if that's not what people want to hear.

 

I would think in this day and age you should enquire as to what it identifies as and go from there.

 

We had this a couple of years ago. Having escaped from the neighbours poisoned compost bin one got into our garden, where it was doing the death crawl across our lawn. I swiftly despatched and removed it before the dogs found it.

 

It could identify itself as a elephant. Another few days and it has the right to choose

You have non alcoholic beer and I for one don't really care if we have veggie sausages or burgers.
