  1. Best of luck for today dude and i hope the weathers not too cold for you

  2. Today's work consisted of rubbing down the whole interior metalwork( only got about 60% through) then I put a new engine foam on to break up my day a little!

Then etch primer on raw metal x2 coats & just started some white primer on the boot area.

    Knackered now!

  3. Flattin paint is so borin init? Well done fella

  4. Flattin?? Sanding down ?

  5. Yup flatting = sanding down

It gets its name because your providing a flat as possible surface for the paint to be layed on

I dont mind flatting paint on allready sound surfaces its flatting filler over repairs i hate

Keep up the good work dude and for future work you only need a fine mist coat of etch primer no need for two coats

So many convoluted shapes inside to sand - a proper PITA. specially if someone previously brush painted with Hammerite or dulux. Great work - at least sanding keeps you warm. :)

  7. Thanks guys.

It sure does keep you warm

Simple question if you know the answer - but whats the best way to mask the windows&seals to stop paint/primer getting on them .
Is it purely newspaper & masking tape around the edge? I started doing some yesterday & it was taking me an age.

  8. Push some plastic coated washing line under the seal and work your way around the edge
This will lift the seal away from the paintwork then you can mask the rubber and when you paint it will go slightly underneath the rubber but not get on the rubber seal itself

  10. Yeah just mask the rest of the window with paper as paint can collect and run off plastic bags

  11. You got any snaps of your interiors during resto? :)

  12. I havent my bus is with paul weeding awaiting a full respray in a fresh colour

  13. What colour are you going for?

You sound like you know your stuff, how come you are getting someone else to do it??

I'm loving having my bus & can't wait to have another Indian summer in the UK camping !!

  14. Im going for a landrover colour called keswick green

I dont have a suitable place to spray a whole bus and i hate prepping bodywork
Whilst pauls doing the painting hes also making me some add ons from tubaler steel
Im now spending my time cleaning an prepping all the components so they will be ready to bolt on when my bus comes back

    Looks familiar.

Anything below the windows shows the effort VW went to to cover the primer in 1968.

I really should have cleaned the window seals. :(
