  1. Transfered to steel, preped and holes punched for plug welding

    and welded in

  2. So all that was left was to sort this out
    [IMG]

Usual process, make repair piece and weld in

  3. So with a quick wipe with the grinder and a lick premier the days work was complete

  7. I'd never match your skills, congrats. One small patch at a time.

  8. I like to watch this build thread as I'm attempting to do some of the same jobs to my bus ( and I can't match these skills either (But trying)) ...
The comment about one small patch at a time made me re-read the thread and on page one there's more than a small patch being replaced..
    The roof..
Takes a lot of balls to do that
Keep up the good work and the pic's.

  9. Thanks for comments guys, i'm not sure about my skills thou, i'm no expert and this is my first attempt of a resto that requires any kind of bodywork
i couldn't even weld before I bought the bus
As regards the roof, it nearly ended up being weighed in for scrap, i'm glad i didn't now thou, but it's not something I'll do again thats for sure

That's going to be one tidy bus when your finished. Nice work:thumbsup:

  11. Had chance today to get some work done on the bus, so i attacked the drivers side arch

After lot's of arsing around and struggling on my todd i managed to get the arch tacked in place, after getting the door on with with help of a mate i soon realised that something wasn't right cos we just couldn't get the door to fit well, after a quick measure and compare to the other side it was obvious that i've put the arch to high and pulled the A post in to tight, so off it came and we started again

Whilst taking loads of measurements etc, one off the dads from brownies who owns a late bay called in, as he was passing and saw us beavering away

After a chat and brew, armed with my tape I measured his door openings which give a take a mm here and there they where the same as my passenger side, so with lots clamps etc the drivers arch was tacked in to place using the same measurements

So the time came to refit the door, will it fit........ and yes it does, both doors still need a little tweak but not looking to bad

  12. So on with some pics
