  2. Been off work this week with it being half term, so i thought that i would put my time to good use and to some work on the bus

Finished welding in the inner wheel arch / seat belt mount

  3. Next was the cab floor

    1 hole
    [IMG]

    new panel stitched in
    [IMG]

    Small wheel tub repair needed
    [IMG]

    Repair piece
    [IMG]

    welded in
    [IMG]

Welds still need grinding back but wanted to crack on with the welding

  4. Next up was the inner front valance

which is missing in this picture
    [IMG]

    New one preped for fitting
    [IMG]

    Welded on

  5. Last piece fitted today, was the closing panel that goes between the floor and the inner valance

Panel removed from the body cut that i was hoping to use on the front
    [IMG]

Trial fitted, will be sound with a little hammer and dolly work

  6. Due to the fact this wont be seen once the new front panel is on i just give it a good wire brushing, splashed on some etch and seam sealed it all

Will paint the whole front inner structure with some por15 before fitting the front panel

Properly not, I've been on mine for 3 years and still haven't finished all the welding:(

  10. Before i fit the front and deformation panel, all inner surfaces will be well and truly painted

  11. Brilliant work...As always...
I thought you had hibernated for the winter and I might play catch up.... Not going to happen is it :)

  13. The missus has just change jobs so i'm free from baby sitting duties at weekends now so might put off winter storage for a few more weeks yet

  14. Got some more done yesterday

Had the lip on the apost to repair where the front panel folds on to, so wont be seen

it ws just the lip mainly that and rotten away
    [IMG]

So sliced off the few remaining rusty bits
    [IMG]

with a few strips of steel welded on the lip was remade then trimmed and shaped to suit
    [IMG]

  15. Next up a few holes in the passenger wheel tub
    [IMG]

    So normal procedures apply

    Cut out rot
    [IMG]

    Make cardboard template
    [IMG]

Transfer on to steel and cut out
    [IMG]

    And weld in
    [IMG]

So thats a few more fiddly bits ticked of the list and with the missus changing jobs i'm now relieved of baby sitting duties on the weekends so i might put moving the bus in to winter storeage for a few weeks and try and finish the front end

  16. Cheers mate

  17. Done a little more today

Decided to hold off putting the bus away for a few more weeks as I want to try get all the front back together

So in prep I've painted all the inner front structure with por15, welded captive nuts in to the deformation panel and started to paint the back of the new front panel

Will post more pics when doing things better than a bit of black painting;)

  19. Well i put the bus away in the garage over the weekend, i wasn't going to but with Christmas etc nearly upon us i was getting any time to do anything

I'm back in work tomorrow, so will be borrowing a genny and some lights so that i can get some chassis cleaning and painting done, plus a few over things ready for a big final push to get the welding completed next year
